Performing one of my originals, “Thousands of Miles Away” at the Sidewalk Cafe in NYC!
If you like feeling happy, I will send you endless happy vibes if you buy my album! I worked super hard on it, and it’s super easy to listen to it, so you’re really getting the better end of the deal if you think about it. Reblog if you like it!
Yeah, you heard me. As of 3:05AM, I have officially submitted my album to iTunes. Should be up in a few weeks, NBD. This is exhilarating. Why am I always more productive when it’s well past midnight?

This is my album art, photo courtesy of the lovely Caitlin Tuten-Rhodes. It was taken in some creepy back alleyway in Dublin, Ireland and I think it’s really perfect, kind of Elliott Smith, à la From a Basement on the Hill. Thanks, mi media naranja :)
Thousands of Miles Away by Callison Stratton (me!)
I’m a night owl. My best work is done in the middle of the night, without fail, and when inspiration hits, sleep is the last thing on my mind. This song has been coming to me in waves for the past few nights, so I recorded it so my suite mates don’t have to be bothered with me playing it at 3AM anymore!
I’m an iPod case-making beast! This felt case was inspired by Songs for A Blue Guitar by The Red House Painters, one of my favorite albums.

If you want to commission one, comment on this post or Facebook message me! I’m selling them for $10, and you can get one with your initials on the back, like this one:

(I took the picture with PhotoBooth, so it’s backwards. And I’m too technologically inept to figure out how to flip it.)
I totally forgot that I made this video! It was like a year ago, maybe over the summer. Anyhow, I kinda like it, it’s Rise Up With Fists!! by Jenny Lewis and the Watson Twins. There are so many awkward parts where I try to sing the Watson Twins AND Jenny Lewis’ parts at the same time. But I like to embrace the weirdness.
So my friend Jazz and I started this club a few weeks ago. It’s where lovers of folk music can come together and make sweet music, arrange and harmonize to songs we love, and generally getting our kumbayayas on. This evening we had auditions, and we’re getting pumped for Round Two tomorrow afternoon (also known as ‘morning’ in college student time). People are seriously talented at this school. I can’t handle it.
Also, ch-ch-check out the badass poster! Props to Alex Swenson, class of two-thousand-and-awesome.
